This is the famous regatta sea-faring yacht of R.O.R.C 1st class type, designed by the Americans Stephens and Sperkman and built in 1960 by the Costaguta yard in Genoa Voltri. In addition the the ‘jawl’ sailing equipment, the boat is supplied with a 95 HP auxiliary motor, which enables it to reach a cruising speed of 7 knots; the supplies include 1800 litres of drinking water and 740 litres of fuel. The living quarters can house 15 persons. In January 1961, Corsaro was included in the framework of the Italian Military marine Navy as a training yacht, for teaching the newly enrolled officers at the naval Academy with regard to lengthy navigation in all weather and sea conditions. Ploughing the waves of the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean, in particular, the boat has participated in numerous cruises and international regattas.
