Drip Covers

Drip covers were protective devices used on ships to shield the vulnerable areas of the ship’s interior from water ingress. These covers were typically made of canvas or other waterproof materials and were strategically placed beneath deck fittings or openings where water could potentially enter, such as hatches, companionways, or portholes. The main purpose of drip covers was to prevent water from seeping into the ship’s interior during wet weather or rough sea conditions. The covers acted as a barrier, diverting water away from sensitive areas and directing it overboard. By channeling the water outside the ship, drip covers helped to maintain a drier and safer environment on deck and below. Wooden Model Ship Fittings Drip Covers come in a range of sizes and shapes.
