How to Measure the Thickness of Rigging Cord

Measuring the thickness of rigging cord can be important to determine where it belongs on your model ship kit. Luckily getting the correct diameter measurement is very straight forward.

As the photos show, wind the cord over a round object (such as a dowel or a modeling knife stem) and make 10 turns without a gap between the turns but without stretching the cord.
