History of the Mayflower

The Mayflower famous for being the ship that took the ‘Pilgrim Fathers’ across the Atlantic ocean to America. The Mayflower set sail on the 6th, September 1620 from Plymouth, Devon, England and reached ‘Cape Cod’ America two months later on the 11th, November.

The Mayflower was a three master galleon of around 180 tons. She was captained by the ‘Pilgrim Fathers’ Carver and Brewster who were considered as amongst the first settlers in North America.
