“A Streetcar Named Desire” is the title of a 1947 Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tennessee Williams, adapted in 1951 for the big screen by director Elia Kazan.
“Desire 922,” written by Tennessee Williams, is a 12-time Academy Award-winning play, including Best Picture in 1952.
It was also recognized on Broadway with a Pulitzer Prize. The story is set in the French Quarter of New Orleans and is inspired by the legendary “Desire 922” streetcar line, which stopped running in 1948.
